WARLESS is RECORDING
May 26th- I know its been along time since i dropped in to update, but here i am. the recording proecess is moving along. We have been in and out of Redlight with Scott recording Djembes with the talented Mr Sharp, and today keith came in a laid down some really beautiful guitar. It was great to finally get to sit down and listen to what that man actually does up close and personal. im always playing along side or singing over top so its noce to hear the details and it was truly beautiful. Its also really nice to finally start to listen back to these songs at a point where they are starting to develop into the full thing. We have yet to get me in there and sing but theres a scratch track and all the major intruments are down so we are getting to hear our babys as they will sound. Scott is really bringing it all together so well. Weve still got alot to do, so look to early July for release.
Great Love
Rika

REG GIG in progress (June 20th 09)
We are having alot of fun at the Corduroy, weve started to have real fun on stage, instead of too much concentration on just being ABLE to do it... Had an amazing gang of people show up on Sunday for the cancer show and they danced our asses off, thanks Mr.Martin. Good people.
Had an AMAZING jam with Keith and Joe last Tuesday. Good people ; )

REG GIG
We are currently trying to lock into a regular gig that we can do every week in order to hone us into a tight little package as well as get the music out to the very most. Red Square was great fun and maybe involved. Also we played a great little place called Corduroy Lounge just off the beach in Kits on Wednesday, hope that might be a regular. Great crowd, good space and alot of fun to play!
DEMO's ARE HERE!
Thank you's so very much to Jeff Collins who did uncountable later nighters to get these up and sounding really awesome! Give them a listen in some good quality headphones to hear all the beauty! Joes bass, Keiths dreamy back vocals, Heathers fills... So nice. Hope you all enjoy them!
I SMELL PANCAKES
We are hoping to be listening to the demo tracks this weekend. And if all is good then we hope to get them out to you as soon as we decide on font and Pantones.it will be soon. Thanks!
DEMO DUE DATE
OK, The Demo's are taking abit more time than we thought. But that just shows what a good job we are doing. Jeff is working pretty hard on them and we really appreciate that, and Natalie for loaning us some time with him. Full Love to both of them.
So relax, sit back and as DP once sang "Enjoy the silence"....it wont last.
CONTEST WINNERS
Birchana Caldwell and Jay Bamford were the lucky winners of the FREE drink at the last show. Well done you two!
ZION RATANAK PROJECT
As we have mentioned all over the site we have began our first project with my friend Walter Froese at Zion snowboards. Walter came out to one of our shows and told us about his new social project called POP (People of the Planet).
He is giving support to The RATANAK Foundation, which helps the children of Cambodia. A place both Joe and Rick have traveled through and found the children to be so damn beautiful and loving that it boggles ones mind what they have been through and are still going through.
You can read more about the project here.
Suffice to say this is just the beginning of what we intend to build here at WARLESS. A supportive network of people and projects that exemplify the spirit and hope we sing about in our music.
If you have or know of anyone with similar projects you think we would like to support please contact us at . Thank you!
SONGS TAKEN DOWN + NEW RECORDING
As you may have seen we have pulled down our rough-cut demo's done at Blue-Wave. We have no intention of withholding the music from you all, quite the opposite in fact and we are eternally indebted to Graham Stephenson for his hard work on the songs. Creativity is a step process and over the past month we have had the blessing of a young man named Jeff Collins, who has come on board and offered to record and produce some of them on his own time and dime.
We have no idea why hes being so nice to us, other than the fact that he's a super-great fella! and we are finding a very talented musician and producer.
We have "laid down", as they say, Heather's drums, Keith's Guitar and Joe's Bass. All that is left is for Rika to drop in and wail through their beauty. Which we are doing in the next couple of days.
We are excited to have the songs in their full length at a quality that you, the listener can enjoy to the fullest. So, we have decided to use the element of anticipation in our favor.
We are leaving things in the capable hands of Jeff and letting him work his magic. But pop back every so often and mayhaps we'll have some up.
